The PTA Meeting will be at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, February 4th.After the meeting, Hardy Oak families will share dishes from their cultural background. Come travel the world with us!
The entries submitted for the Reflections Art Contest will be on display for all to enjoy.
All Hardy Oak Spirit Merchandise will be available at discounted prices. Here’s your chance to pick up an extra shirt for the spring since some spirit shirts may be outgrown or well-worn.

PTA’s Multicultural Culinary Night is Tuesday, February 4th in the Hardy Oak Cafeteria, immediately following the 6:00 PTA Meeting. This is the night we invite all of our Hardy Oak families and students to celebrate and share our varied cultures and backgrounds by bringing in a favorite dish or dessert for everyone to sample.
The PTA needs parents to sign up to host a table to make this a successful night. Sign up below to reserve your table for the evening. In the comment line, please list the TYPE OF DISH you would like to bring and the COUNTRY it originates from. It is ok to have duplicate countries. Please reserve your table by Friday, Jan. 31st.
We love to show our teachers we appreciate their hard work and the Soup Luncheon is one of their favorites! Here’s your chance to share the love on Valentine’s Day by bringing in a soup, salad, roll or dessert. See the link below and thanks for signing up!!

The Student Council Lighthouse Team delivered the bags of food and games before the Holiday break and enjoyed a fun time with the Camelot students.
A Leadership team from Camelot Elementary will be at our February 4th PTA meeting to share some exciting initiatives from their school.
Are you sorting at home?
Hardy Oak is collecting gently used books, DVDs and CDs. The NEISD Used Book Sale is March 20th-22nd and the proceeds from the books we donate will go to support our Sister School Camelot Elementary. All book genres accepted including children, young adult, cookbooks, foreign language, sports, travel and more.You can drop-off your used books in the boxes by the office or in the rotunda. Earn 1 SVSA service hour for up to 10 items donated; 2 SVSA service hours for over 10 items donated.

We are thankful to have your support to be able to provide programs and give back to the school.Hardy Oak needs only 20 members to meet our goal for the year. The Hornet’s Nest Spirit Store will be Friday, February 7th during lunches. The store will have pens, pencils, notebooks and other fun novelty items. This is a fun way for students to purchase gift items for siblings or friends. Small bills and coins are appreciated. All items are $5 and under.Spirit merchandise will be available to purchase as well.
All students who bring money will be able to shop at the Hornet’s Nest toward the end of their lunch time. It is a fun way for kids to learn how to handle money and make smart purchases!

The Fall Festival was an amazingly fun night! Thank you to all the Lopez MS students, Reagan HS Students, Hardy Oak teachers and Hardy Oak families that helped run a game, booth or ride so our Hornets could have a great time!

Game Collections December 2nd – December 13th
**We are asking each child in Hardy Oak to participate in the December sister school collection. We will be collecting NEW board games. One NEISD SVSA hour will be given for your donation. Our hope is that every child at Camelot be gifted a NEW game to enjoy with their family this holiday season! If every Hardy Oak Student brings one game, we will be able to achieve this for the Camelot families. **
To try to give each Camelot student an age appropriate gift, please consider sending in these suggested games by grade:
Kinder/PPCD/RSG/ALE- Candy Land
1st Grade- Chutes & Ladders
2nd Grade- Connect 4
3rd Grade-Trouble
4th Grade-Sorry
5th Grade- Monopoly
The Class that donates the most games will receive a PIZZA PARTY in class!

At least one participant will be chosen from EACH grade level!!!

This year we will be celebrating Hardy Oak’s helping spirit and commitment to community service by combining our walk-to-school event with breakfast food drive benefiting our sister school Camelot Elementary. Not only will we spread light and goodness across the galaxy – but we will be helping our fellow NEISD students!
Grab some breakfast items (granola bars, breakfast bars, pop-tarts) to donate.
If you would like to help out that day, please see Walk to School sign-up or if you are a Watch Dog that could help at the intersections, please see Watch Dog spots for the morning of October 2nd.
You are invited to participate in the Annual Bike Rodeo at Hardy Oak Elementary. The event will be held in the back parking lot and is a one-day school wide event, which emphasizes bicycle safety and rider competence.
See Letter and Permission Slip that is needed for your child to participate. Forms are due October 4th.
Volunteer Signup will be sent out soon via REMIND. Sign-up to receive volunteer opportunities by texting @ hardyoakv to 81010.
All are welcome and encouraged to submit an entry to the Reflections Art Program. The theme is “Look Within.”
All students ALE, K-5th grade may submit entries. All participants will receive an award.

Providing opportunities for our students to volunteer and give-back at a young age is a great life lesson. The SVSA encourages and rewards students for their volunteerism.Please see the Program Overview including information on how to log your students hours.
The October Service Opportunity is to bring a snack item for Camelot Elementary on Walk to School Day on October 2nd. We will collect your items and deliver to Camelot.

Thank you to all of our special guests and volunteers that made our Grandparents Day a wonderful event! The taco lunch from Los Gueros Tacos was yummy and the smiles from all the students and families made for a great time together.
One of the best parts of the Fall Festival are the Class Baskets and Canvases in the Silent Auction. Come see how you can work with your class and teacher to create one of these items. We will meet to discuss ideas on September 11th at 9:30 in the cafeteria. Please join us.If you already know you want to take on a basket or canvas, you can email [email protected] with your theme idea. If you are interested in helping but can’t make the meeting, please email me and I will send you the information.

The September Opportunity is the HEB Read 3 Book Drive. There are two drop off locations for your new or gently used Children’ s Books. Donations can be dropped off at school in the bin near the office or at Nothing Bundt Cakes on Sonterra. All donations that are dropped off at Nothing Bundt Cakes will receive a free Confetti Bundlet! All donations due by Wednesday, September 18th.
