Through our scholarship program, Hardy Oak Elementary PTA works to support students who are focused on achieving career goals through higher education. The Hardy Oak Elementary PTA seeks to recognize former Hardy Oak Elementary students with a scholarship to be used for post-high school educational opportunities. Students must have attended Hardy Oak Elementary for any period of time and demonstrate a strong commitment to education and their community. Funds for the scholarships are provided by Hardy Oak Elementary PTA.
Scholarship Details
Hardy Oak Elementary PTA will provide two $1,000 scholarships to one male and one female who meet the eligibility requirements.
Requirements
All applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Attended Hardy Oak Elementary School
- A graduating senior in (2024)
- High school GPA of 2.5 or better at the end of junior year
- Must plan to be enrolled full-time in an accredited college, university or a technical institute in the summer or fall/spring semester following high school graduation.
- Complete and submit the scholarship application before the deadline of March 22, 2024
Application
The application is completed electronically using the following link. Submissions must be made before 11:59 P.M. CST on March 22, 2024 to be considered. Late applications will not be accepted.
As part of the application you will be required to provide the following documents (pdf/doc format):
- Resume listing school activities, community involvement, special recognitions, and awards the applicant received in high school. Also, list any work experience during the high school years.
- Copy of high school transcript (Does not need to be “Official”.)
- A 500-700 word double spaced essay describing your future goals for both your education and career, your experience at Hardy Oak Elementary and the role it played in supporting and enriching your K-12 education. Essays should include why you believe you deserve the scholarship as well as favorite memories of Hardy Oak Elementary.

Timeline
- January 24 – Application window opens.
- March 22 – Application window closes.
- April 8 – Determination of scholarship recipient(s) made no later than this date.
- April 8 – Recipient(s) notified of decision by email/phone.
- May 2024- Fifth grade graduation ceremony, a PTA general meeting or Senior walk – Awards and recognition of scholarship recipient(s).
Selection Process
The selection committee is made up of current members of the Hardy Oak Elementary PTA, with the Vice President leading the committee.
Each submission will be assigned a number and personal identifiers will be removed by a non- voting member of the committee. The anonymous submissions will be reviewed and scored by the committee. The final scores will then be used to determine the recipients.
